In the quaint village of Cregwall, the eccentric Manciple family is well-known for their quirky ways. Yet nothing has sparked more gossip than the body of Raymond Mason, found shot dead in their driveway. Mason had recently shown interest in buying their estate, and local authorities quickly call in Chief Inspector Henry Tibbett to investigate. Despite his initial reservations, Tibbett finds himself intrigued by the Manciples, who will go to any lengths – even murder – to protect their ancestral home.
