In this two-volume work, published in 1892–7, Swiss philologist Robert von Planta (1864–1937) gives an exhaustive account of the history and development of Osco-Umbrian phonology and syntax. Volume 2 provides a detailed description of Italic syntax and reproduces inscriptions from Italian stones and plaques.
