Siri Senje’s serial drama Henrik & Suzannah resurrects what she calls "the murdered love story" between Henrik and Suzannah Ibsen, while also giving Suzannah the voice and perspective history denied her. The screenplay text is set alongside images, blog fragments from its making, and the words of Ibsen's contemporaries., while four essays explore the craft of writing lives, the screenplay as form, and fiction's claim on the truth. Henrik & Suzannah is the culmination of the artistic research project Writing the Writer*, which makes the case that fiction isn’t just a supplement to truth—it may be the most reliable path to it.
