The book will appeal to both instructors and students of mathematics with interest in solving real world problems. This book is a compendium of the problems used in the annual Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM) run by the Consortium for Mathematics and its Applications (COMAP). In this competition teams of undergraduate mathematics students develop and present solutions to problems from the real world. The contest is international in scope and draws over 12,000 student teams each year. The author offers a set of contest judges recommendations for student teams to enhance their papers.
