Released in 44 BC, these philosophical works represent what life was like for Romans at the time, detailing the dynamics of human relationships and the acceptance of aging. Marcus Tullius Cicero wrote numerous treatises, but these two were the most prominent and widespread. Inspired by his personal experiences and philosophical traditions, the works were dedicated to Cicero’s close friend Atticus.
