Caroline, a former marathon runner and 14 year old dropout was the perfect candidate for a tiara: disciplined, accustomed to public attention and utterly uneducated. When she meets Finn, the prince of a small European kingdom, her fate is sealed. A collar of pearls locks around her throat, and a rope of diamonds leashes her to the balcony so that Caroline can only smile, wave, and produce children with perfect grace. Once she begins to open her eyes to the world around though Caroline discovers that she may have entered a bargain that cannot be undone.
