Omtale

On 12 May 1926 the airship Norge under the leadership of Roald Amundsen reached the North Pole from Svalbard, and continued on to Alaska. For Amundsen it was the culmination of a lifelong dream, almost 30 years after his first polar expedition as first mate on Belgica and 15 years after he reached the South Pole. He had conquered the polar world on skis and snowshoes, dog sleds, four different ships, planes and finally a dirigible. It was to be his final successful expedition. This book includes the full story of the Norge expedition through Roald Amundsens pesonal diary, the first publication of the personal expedition diaries and logbooks of Lincoln Ellsworth, Umberto Nobile and Bernt Balchen, a large number of newspaper articles following the expedition day to day, and more than 350 photos from archives in Norway, USA and Italy.
