Originally published in 1936, this book presents an account of some aspects of the life of the renowned French letter-writer and aristocrat Marie de Rabutin-Chantal, marquise de Sévigné (1626–96). The text was written by the Cambridge literary critic Arthur Augustus Tilley (1851–1942), who incorporates notes throughout.
