Supposedly dead in a fire in 1874, Richard Feeney secretly escaped to America, where he prospered. Now, 26 years later, he is back. When someone from the insurance company recognizes Dickie, he is faced with a trial and imprisonment. Meanwhile, the police reopen files on an unsolved double murder.
