Rune Belsvik’s new novel is about a man who is happily aware that he hasn’t been interested in women for a long time. He realises this one day when a beautiful young girl starts at work, and to his great surprise he notices that he doesn’t fancy her. Jolver Nilsen is 49-years-old, and gets an antique chest of drawers from his wife for his birthday. This might be what makes him lose his temper and tell his wife that she’s disgusting, and with that she leaves home. Jolver is a man who carries a lot of suffering inside him, who tries to make new friends and have a good relationship with himself. He would very much like to recapture the relationship he once had with his wife. Would he be able to understand himself better through meditation? Rune Belsvik writes about men in such a way that everyone, not least women, will get great benefit from reading. It is wise and funny, with a distinctive look at the nuances of everyday life.
