Cultural Evolution and its Discontents : Cognitive Overload, Parasitic Cultures, and the Humanistic Cure

People worry that computers, robots, interstellar aliens, or Satan himself – brilliant, stealthy, ruthless creatures – may seize control of our world and destroy what’s uniquely valuable about the human race.
