The scope and nature of the connections between the Transeurasian languages are among the most disputed issues in comparative historical linguistics. This four-volume collection will assemble the most important scholarly writings concerning the historical relationship between these languages, particularly those discussing areal and genealogical correlations. Not only it will include articles and chapters dealing with the overall comparison of the five linguistic groups, but it will also pay attention to relevant contributions to binary comparison, such as for instance between Turkic and Mongolic, Koreanic and Japonic, or Japanese and Ryukyuan.
