Over the past 2,000 years, London has survived invasions, plagues, fires and air raids, witnessed the wealth and power of monarchs such as Henry VIII and Queen Victoria, and the building of palaces, parks and railways. This is London's incredible story, as it grew from a small Roman town to one of the greatest cities in the world.
