This book gathers skeletal evidence on seven basic health indicators, to assess chronic conditions that affected the populations of the West over the past several millennia. As measured by childhood indicators of health, Native Americans were among the healthiest and the least healthy peoples in the Western Hemisphere pre-twentieth century.
