This little book provides insight into the subjective side of science. It describes the behavior of those who conduct scientific studies and sees this behavior in the light of the established norms and notions of the scientist. As an illustration of how the behavior patterns of scientists influence their scientific product, Sheikh uses the research on "The Buddhist Dead Sea Scrolls" in The Schøyen Collection. Mehreen Sheikh is a historian of religion. She was educated in the history of religion, folklore, and education at the University of Oslo.
