Omtale
The proud and traditional Cuellar family from Sardinia has noble ancestors but a progressive and passionate history. When the fascists get hold of Italy during the 1920s and 30s, the family thinks it is a matter of course that they take up the fight. The father, Salvatore, the obvious leader, organizes the resistance in the town of Bosa, and becomes known as a trouble-maker with the fascists as far as Rome. His oldest son, Mario, is strong and courageous, and willing to go even farther than Salvatore. But the story is told by the little brother, Alessio, who tries to find his own way to win the respect of his family. The Other Son is a major, entertaining epic of a novel dealing with the eternal themes; friendship, envy, love and betrayal, and it portrays a living picture of strong characters in the shadow of the forthcoming war.
