A story of God's help : vital wisdom revealed

Omtale

We live in a time of darkening horizons—wars, climate change, violence, and growing evil. Many wonder: If God exists, why does He allow all this to happen? Surprisingly, as this book shows, Christianity still carries real hope and the power of renewal from its deepest roots. Based on lived experience, A Story of God's Help describes how God has opened a new way for people to receive His help—precisely when humanity needs it most. Through sixteen profound conversations, we come to know two men brought together by chance: Lasse Tornquist and the thirteen-years-older Hans Brochmann. Lasse has had a life-changing spiritual experience he feels called to share. Hans, who is battling cancer and knows his time is short, is most interested in Lasse the man and the path his life has taken. In the dynamic between them, personal stories and deep realizations merge into a unity that opens entirely new perspectives. Two seemingly ordinary people in the crowd—yet touched by sublime insights into human existence, elevated by the love that flows through their conversations, which becomes the true driving force of the story. The book also brings two thought-provoking Norwegian fairy tales and the Norse myth of Vidar defeating the Fenris Wolf (the beast that fed on human lies) into our present time—as powerful images of God’s providence. What is happening today seems to have been prepared long ago.
