Asterix: The Golden Menhir Illustrated Album

Omtale

Available for the first time in North American English, The Golden Menhir Illustrated Album contains large, storybook-like illustrations accompanied by a story told largely in dialogue from the original 1967 audio production. Released with a limited run and nearly lost to history, The Golden Menhir audiobook was given a second life in 2020 when Albert Uderzo himself supervised the adaptation of this illustrated edition, marking his final contribution to Asterix before his passing later that year. On a beautiful day under the Armorican sun, the gentle peace of the little Gaulish village we know so well is suddenly shattered. Cacofonix the bard will be mocked no longer! This time, his talent will be recognized--not by the village idiots, but by the jury of the Gaulish bards' contest held in the Carnute Forest! And not only is Cacofonix going to participate, he is convinced he will win the ultimate prize: the Golden Menhir! Asterix, on the other hand, thinks his friend's vocal exercises are more likely to spark a brawl... First recorded in 1967 as an audiobook on vinyl, The Golden Menhir is a unique treasure from the Asterix archives, with artwork that marks Albert Uderzo's final contribution to Asterix. A playful, music-filled adventure, this illustrated album will be a beloved keepsake for young fans and avid collectors alike.
