The papers are 17 × 17cm (6½ × 6½in) square; larger than standard origami papers (which are 15 × 15cm/6 × 6in) to allow for the papers to be cut up to fold smaller components, or to be trimmed down to standard size if required. The book begins with an introduction to essential folding techniques, including horizontal, vertical and diagonal folds, as well as more advanced techniques like the reverse fold and accordion fold. With easy-to-follow diagrams that take you from simple square to success, Animals makes it straightforward to transform pretty papers into a collection of cute or fearsome creatures.
