Medieval Dominican efforts to convert non-Christian populations have often been considered instrumental in worsening relations between Christians, Muslims and Jews. The study shows that their prime concern was to protect the spiritual well-being of the Christian faithful through preaching, censorship and maintenance of existing faith barriers to interfaith communications.
