Omtale
Welcome to a brand new art museum! Monica T. Reitan and Ole-Robert Reitan had a dream: To bring world-class modern art to their hometown Trondheim, Norway. In the former post office building from 1911, right in the heart of Trondheim, the doors of Pomo has now opened. This book tells the story of how the dream became reality – and the ambitions for the future. In addition to a conversation with the founders, written by Agnes Moxnes, the book contains an extensive text by architect Erik F. Langdalen about the complicated transformation of the Art Nouveau post office building to a contemporary modern museum. Dan Thawley conveys the philosophy of the French-Iranian architect India Mahdavi, also named 'The queen of colour'. Norwegian artist and author Matias Faldbakken fantasizes about post offices past and present, with Giovanni Piranesi (1720-1778) as the focal point, while artist Eline Mugaas contributes a photo essay titled Posthouse mortem. The book is richly illustrated with historical and new photographs.
