This work considers the fundamentally “oppositional” structure of reality, viewing Augustine as a “Christian Heraclitus” and focusing on his conception of dialectic. Matthew W. Knotts situates Augustine's anthropology within a classical Roman philosophical context, while characterizing his intellect by continuous questioning.
