This teacher education resource compiles lessons learned from the Association of Teacher Educator (ATE)'s three-year nationwide Inquiry Initiative, a collaborative partnership focused on opportunity gaps in education. The book brings together project contributors to address the central question of how to bridge these opportunity gaps through inquiry, practice, and praxis in today's world. Chapters introduce the ATE Inquiry Initiative and its six focus areas: addressing systemic inequalities; equitable literacy instruction; clinical practice; educational policy; equitable learning opportunities in STEM, Social Studies, and Technology; and disrupting inequalities. Each focus area chapter invites project contributors to discuss their research findings and implications for policy and practice in teacher education. The book closes with reflections on the Initiative’s processes and outcomes and how these are key in dismantling systemic inequities within education. Ideal for teacher education faculty and higher education administration, this text captures the Initiative's efforts to positively impact teacher educators and better the conditions in which they prepare teachers in support of positive classroom environments for PK-12 students.
