The Scottish poet and novelist Sir Walter Scott (1771–1832) contributed to this work of non-fiction, originally published in two volumes in 1814–17, which illuminates Border history as revealed through architecture and artefacts. It includes many detailed engravings of castles, churches and other significant historic structures.
