Everyone journeys to Key West searching for something, but one person's paradise can be another's prison. In 1935, key West-native Helen yearns to escape. Mirta arrives in the Keys on her honeymoon after an arranged marriage. While she can't deny the attraction to her new husband, she's fearful of his illicit business. Elizabeth's trip from New York to Key West is a chance to save her once-wealthy family from their troubles after the Wall Street crash. Over the weekend, the women's paths cross unexpectedly and the danger around them is matched only by the terrifying force of a deadly storm.
