The book suggests and defines a new temperature scale, which is more feasible than the prevailing ones. For everyday use, we have the Celsius and the Fahrenheit scale, for scientific purposes we know the Kelvin and the Rankine scale, additionally the less known Réaumur scale exists. Apparently, there are enough temperature scales already, so why still another one? The purpose is mainly to make life easier for those who are concerned professionally with thermodynamics. The problem with the existing temperature scales is that they were invented at a time when the profound relation between temperature and energy was not known. Now we know, and should draw the consequences. In fact, temperature indicates energy and its unit should be deduced from the energy unit. Temperature should not possess a basic unit of its own!
