This book consist of seven articles dealing with genre, discourse and culture in one way or another. The articles are based on papers given at the conference Genres and Discourses in Education, Work and Cultural Life held in Oslo in May 2001. What units the various contributions to this book is the fact that genre and discourse are discussed from an educational point of view or from a school perspective. The developmental point of departure is also central in several of the articles. Both oral and written genres and discourses are discussed. With index.
