This publication documents the second edition of the MUNCH Triennale, Almost Unreal, and expands upon its core themes. It includes essays by the exhibition's curators Tominga O'Donnell and Mariam Elnozahy, alongside McKenzie Wark and Nora N. Khan, exploring technology as a site for imagination, the holographic nature of reality, epistemic crisis in the digital age, and game engines as tools for environmental consciousness and world-building. Featuring 26 artists including Simone Forti, Charlotte Johannesson, Alice Bucknell, Firas Shehadeh, and Natalie Paneng, the book offers comprehensive documentation alongside critical perspectives on how artists repurpose technologies – from holograms to gaming engines – in order to imagine alternative futures and suspend our current reality.
