The debate over likenesses of Shakespeare and the identity of the sonnets' dedicatee is ongoing. This one-volume reissue comprises three works exploring these subjects: two from 1824 and 1837 by playwright and biographer James Boaden (1762–1839) and an 1827 essay on the portraits by painter Abraham Wivell (1786–1849).
